Bel Air Spanish

The gutting, remodel and addition to this large Spanish home aimed to correct the many inappropriate remodels and additions done over the years.  The design intended to make the house feel like an intact villa that had been stylishly refreshed.  For example the stained coffered wood ceiling and precast fireplace in the living room are all new elements.  The updated interiors reflect the client’s interest in Art Deco and Hollywood Regency styles.  Various awkward small spaces such as the den, kitchen, and master bath were opened up.  An additional office and bath were added upstairs. The massing of the project, landscape and pool were reworked to better suit its Mediterranean character. (Featured in Hollywood Reporter)
