This new ADU was designed to complement the existing house (which is in an Historic Preservation Zone and also under the Mills Act).  Many of these projects that are landmarked or historically designated, require experienced knowledge of codes and the city’s historic governing boards.  The exterior harkens to the vocabulary of  the existing house (including the custom-designed stained glass high window) and includes strict water conservation methods, while the interior reflects the more open modern feel desired by the clients.
